PPF( Paint Protection Film) 8 Mils
PPF (Paint Protection Film) is a transparent, durable material applied to a car’s paint to protect it from damage such as rock chips, scratches, stains, and other road debris. It acts as a protective barrier while maintaining the car’s appearance.
When you hear “8 mils” in reference to PPF, it refers to the thickness of the film. “Mil” is a unit of measurement, where 1 mil equals 1/1000th of an inch. So, an 8 mil PPF is 0.008 inches thick. This thickness provides a good balance of durability and flexibility, making it strong enough to offer protection but still thin enough to conform well to the surface of the vehicle.
The thicker the PPF, the more protection it offers, but it can also become a bit less flexible, so 8 mil is a common thickness for both everyday use and more robust protection.
